Island Candles was established in 2015 by Emma Joynes following a move to the beautiful island of Alderney a few years earlier, the northern most island of the Channel Islands.
Following a love (bordering on obsession) of scented candles Emma decided to try her hand at making her own. Initially this was just a hobby making a couple of candles a week for personal use. Pretty soon friends and family started requesting Emma to make candles for them, after a few years of trial and error seeing what worked and what certainly didn't Emma thought about maybe turning this into more than just a hobby. As Christmas was coming and now living on Alderney Emma decided that maybe the Alderney Christmas Market would be the place to try her hand at making candles for the general public and well..........
Following on from her sucess and the positive feedback she recieved from the Alderney Christmas Market Emma decided to throw caution to the wind and established Island Candles.
Currently Island Candles are stocked in the Alderney Wildlife Trust Shop on Victoria Street as well as at the Aviator Cafe at Alderney Airport with interest from establishments in both Guernsey and Jersey looking to stock her candles.
